Lee Brennan Design was born in 2008, with a relatively natural progression from a 10 year construction background. The step to Interior Design Concepts, Furniture and Jewellery was triggered by a number of reasons, including a greater desire for creative freedom and to carry forward the possibilities and integrity that come with recycled materials.
Demolition yards, derelict barns and houses, decommissioned bridges and wharfs, provide the backbone of the designs. Not only have these materials proved their structural integrity they have also developed a rugged charm that comes only through many years exposed to a harsh Australian climate.
Lee Brennan Design strives to improve waste management and a heightened responsibility in the construction industry while promoting the beauty and strength of it’s veteran materials.
Inspired by hand beaten artifacts, and the minimal (Wabi) philosophy that deeply connects with emotions experienced in the nobility of poor, humble, hand forged objects. This affection for the unpretentious is heightened by our love for imperfections, along with an attachment to the qualities evident in unfinished art or sculpture.
